Dear Friends, The Release Date Is Coming

Hiya friends! How are you? I’ve got more updates and highlights to share!

First big news is that version 1.7 of Love Limit has an official release date! That date is September 20th! I should be done with physiotherapy around mid August, which gives me time to hunker down on what remains of the drawing and coding. 💪 I’ve been pecking away at all the work I can. However, considering my right hand is in a cast, things are a bit tricky! Thank you for your continued patience!

Second news update is that we hit the Ko-fi goal to release Love Limit on steam! 🎉🎉Special shoutout to Reaver who made this possible! I was feeling pretty low while recovering, so this was a lovely pick-me-up! The Steam launch is currently set for the same date as Version 1.7’s release on itch.io.

Since the game will be free on Steam as well, I’d super appreciate your help in sending it off from the nest. You can do that by sharing, playing, and reviewing Love Limit on Steam once it’s out. Reviews have a weird ratio to hit on Steam. To share insider knowledge, the following chart breaks down why reviews are so important to indies!

We need 10 ratings for Steam to even register the game as rated. Reaching their milestones gives more chances for people in our Otome/Visual Novel niche to play more fun indie otome! Hunting for otome games on Steam has always been a challenge, but through community effort we can change that! I’d really appreciate your support once the page goes live!

While we’re on the topic of Steam, I’m working on the graphics for the page. Ideally, I’d like to add some achievements too. So, between the additional sprites, CGs, and achievements, there’s something for both returning players and new ones to enjoy!

With that I’ll announce our second community-built Dev-decision! VOILA!

I want your help to name all the achievements for Love Limit’s Steam release! The intention is to bring a smile to the faces of those who achieve them by giving them clever or funny names! If you’d like to participate, head on over to our Ko-fi page for the full details! You're also welcome to comment below.
I’m excited to collab with you all on this! Let’s stretch our funny bones together!

While we’re chatting about Ko-fi, I’d also like to shoutout Keth who’s contributed towards our next Ko-fi goal! Our next goal is to raise $1000 to fund the animation and music for Love Limit’s Steam trailer. We’d love to bring the full spectrum of Love Limit’s signature expressiveness to life with animation. We’d also like to commission our first piece of custom music for the game for this trailer!

I’ve drafted a few ideas for the Ko-fi page to help reach this goal. Really, I’m a simple girl. I want to build a closer relationship with people who enjoy what I do, and afford to spend more time doing what I love most in my life . Ko-fi feels like the perfect place to start doing that. So, I’m wondering what kind of stuff you’d like to see on the page? Below is my current list of things I’m interested in doing, but I’m open to feedback and suggestions from you! I’ve broken everything up into categories so that there will be more of a round-table of posts!

Frequent Post Ideas:

  • Work in progress content like art, writing, screenshots, and other sneak peeks.
  • Behind the Scenes process videos.
    • I write, code, and draw, so any of those processes would be fun to talk about.
  • Read Next & Play Next Polls  with a follow-up chat.
    • Basically, we chat about what we’ve read or watched, and trade recommendations! I want to experience all the things! This would also be a great chance to talk about my favourite creatives and find some new ones!
  • Devlogs
    • I’d like to adopt quarterly updates for game development on all my major social. Essentially there would be a big devlog released every 3 months on a consistent schedule. These quarters would be one update discussing everything that was done from January-March (Q1), then one for April-June (Q2), another for July-September (Q3), and the last for October-December (Q4). Sometimes there isn’t much to chat about week to week, or month to month, as game development takes time depending on what’s being done. Three months is just enough time to make big strides and have lots to chat about and reflect on! The current dates left this year I’ve selected for this schedule are, September 27th 2025 and December 27th 2025. From 2026 onward the updates will always come on the 27th of the last month in each quarter. So, March 27th, June 27th, September 27th, and December 27th. I will offer mini-devlogs between these dates if I need to announce something sooner! But I figured having set dates will help you know what’s going on and when to expect to hear from me!

Subscriber Exclusive Post Ideas:

  • Ko-fi exclusive game
    • At present I’m debating an IF game, or a new VN!
  • Early access to our games
    • This would include future releases, and alpha builds of in-progress works. Your name would also go in the credits of our finished games
  • Development Bloopers & Scrapped Content
  • Studio Vlogs
    • I’d discuss how I'm doing and how development is going casually while doing an activity.

Reward Ideas:

  • Digital Colouring book
  • Emotes from current project
  • Downloadable wallpaper complete with icons for desktop & mobile
    • I see so many cute and fun wallpaper sets. I’d love to make some of my own! I’m thinking they’ll feature animals I enjoy and don’t see too often like black birds, ferrets, etc. I’d also like to make some otoge themed sets!

I love all of the above ideas. I feel there’s a variety of post types to choose from to keep things fresh, while also not heaping on tasks that’d take away from game development. But I’m open to critique and other suggestions. I’m just starting this journey with all of you, so I’d like to give what you’d love to see

In Love Limitless Development news, the writing for Love Limitless’s alpha demo is about 2/3’s done! I hope to finish up the writing over the next 2-3 weeks, and then send it over to Quacksolotl for editing. Following that I’ll be diving into creating all the art assets. Enjoy this sneak peek from a scene that made me laugh.

Don’t forget Love Limit’s 1st Anniversary bundle is still on sale at our shop: https://lovelimitanniversary.bigcartel.com/
Preorders close on August 10th, so be sure to take Egen home with you before then!

Thanks so much for reading, and have a wonderful rest of your week!
